Development of yeast strains for the production of heterologous proteins[b]We are looking for a highly motivated and ambitious Diploma/Master Student who wants to join our group and work on this timely topic!
Background:Yeasts are commonly used host systems for the production of complex proteins. Efficient folding and secretion are crucial parameters for the production of secreted heterologous proteins. It is therefore important to analyse strains secreting different heterologous proteins.
This work will focus on the influence of the different proteins on secretion capacity.
The work will include:- Cloning of vectors in E. coli
- Expression and small scale cultivation in the yeast Pichia pastoris
- Product analysis and quantification via SDS-PAGE, Western Blot and ELISA
