*) name 2 characteristics of mutated k-ras?

*) what can turn a proto-oncogene into an oncogene?

*) what has tumor suppressing functions?

-) growth inhibition
-) induction of apoptosis
-) DNA damage report
...

*) what gives rise to a carcinoma?
-) fibroblasts
-) epithelial cells
-) melanocytes

*) what is used in proteomics?
-)2D-gel
-) mass spectrometry
-) RNA-seq

*) which one is an in vitro transformation assay?

-) xenografts
-) soft agar assay
-) colony forming assay

*) inflammatory bowel syndrom plags a role in...

-) hepatocellular cancer
-) pancreatic cancer
-) colorectal cancer

*) which is a malignant disease?

-) sarcoma
-) carcinoma
-) both

*) epigenetic regulatory mechanisms?

"choose two" "choos at least three" "one answer" ...).

1.) Which is the most abundant cancer type in women in Austria? (1)
2.) Which cells kill tumor cells? (2)
--> natural killer cells
--> B cells
--> T helper cells
--> cytotoxic T cells
--> regulatory T cells
3.) Which hallmark ability is connected with telomerase (o. so) (1)
--> 5 of "Hanahan and Weinberg's" hallmarks
4.) Which are good targets for anti-cancer drugs? (2)
--> 4 or 5 receptors were given, some with examples. Among others there were kinases and nuclear receptors, ...
5.) Name three cancer types that are connected to inflammation (o. so) (OPEN)
6.) Which mutation impairs Cetuximab efficacy? (nA)
--> KRAS
--> p53
7.) Two effects of p53? (2)
8.) TEM - Transition of epithelial to mesenchymal cells...characteristics??? (2)
9.) Which is a malignant disease? (1)
--> carcinoma
--> sarcoma
--> both
10.) How do tumors avoid being attacked by the immune system? (2)
11.) How can genome methylation be tested (o. so)? (1)
12.) A predictive marker predicts what...? (1)
13.) Choose two cancer types were RNA techniches (mRNA/miRNA) are used for diagnosis (o. so) (2)
14.) What is the correct order of the stages of colon cancer? (bring into correct order)
15.) Which is NOT part of pharmacokinetics? (1)
--> E...
--> M...
--> A...
--> D...
--> R...
16.) Which are important factor for pharmacokinetics? (2)
--> Age
--> Gender
--> Dyfunctional organs
--> Pharmacogenetics
17.) Which are the most important exogenous factors for cancer development? (2)
18.) What are the characteristics of prodrugs? (2)
--> More effective in men
--> More effective at higher concentrations within the tumor cells
--> They need activation by the body
--> They contain a masked actie compound

--

1) what is the most common cancer type in men in Austria?
2) what are the most important exogenous risk factors?
3) bring into correct order (steps of colorectal cancer): normal mucosa, aberrant crypt foci, etc.
4) characteristics of prodrugs
5) list 3 types of cancers which are connected to inflammation
6) a predictive marker predicts what?
7) most common mutation type of p53: missense, frameshift, nonsense,...
8 ) efficacy of cetuximab is impaired by which mutation?
9) which one is a malignant disease?: carcinoma, sarcoma, both?
10) which cells directly kill cancer cells?
11) hallmark ability connected with telomerase?
12) which have been shown to be promising targets for anti cancer drugs?
13) cellular and molecular changes in EMT
14) how do tumors avoid being attacked by the immune system?
15) how can genome methylation be tested?
16) choose cancer types where RNA techniques are used
17) which is not part of pharmacokinetics
18) can´t remember

Exam 4.11.2021:

The same like in May 2021,but with 4 or 5 different questions:

- which key target genes of p53 regulate all cycle arrest and apoptosis? (2) Kras, p21, BAX, beta-catenin and one more
-where is telomerase normally expressed? (1) nerve cells, stem cells, smooth muscle cells, blood cells
-tumor vasculature needed for construction? (1)
-How can tumor cells escape immune attack? (2)

I don't remember all the questions and answers properly, just a brief overview about the asked topics. The numbers within the brackets mean how many answers were correct of the 4 or 5 possible ones.
