CAR-T cell immunotherapy is one of the hottest topics in cancer research and has already shown groundbreaking success in therapy of previously incurable forms of leukemia Despite the promising results there are still major challenges to overcome. In an interdisciplinary collaboration project between the group of Cellular Therapeutics at the CCRI (St. Anna Kinderkrebsforschung) and the group of Protein Biochemistry at the BOKU (Prof. Obinger) we are aiming to develop a new generation of CAR-T cells for safe and specific tumor eradication.

Due to the interdisciplinary setup the open position will cover a broad array of aspects ranging from protein/ligand interaction, protein engineering, to functional characterization of anti-tumor efficacy of CAR-T cells in vitro and possibly also in vivo.

We are looking for a highly ambitious student with an interest in cancer immunotherapy and the willingness to work at both sites (BOKU and the CCRI).
