Biofilms are a major issue in the food industry, as the cleaning is challenging due to the increased resistance of the biofilm to external factors. The aim of the master thesis is to develop and characterize a biofilm imitate with similar structural properties relevant for cleaning and disinfection to a native biofilm. Based on the results, a representative stable and reproducible biofilm imitate will be selected in the frame of the Project Biomitate.
