Despite compliance with current hygiene standards and the use of state-of-the-art concepts for cleaning and disinfection, the formation of bacterial biofilms is inevitable in the food industry. So far, there are no standardised methods to evaluate the cleaning efficacy on-site. One approach is the use of biofilm imitations. As part of the BioMitate2 project, the aim of this thesis is to develop a theoretical method to imitate biofilms.
