Metabolomics is one of the most recent „omics“ techniques and aims at the measurement of the global metabolome, the total of metabolites in a given cell. Highly sensitive and selective analytical methods are needed for the analysis of metabolites in biological samples, which contain hundreds of compounds at concentrations varying orders of magnitude.
We are searching for a master student, who supports our development and implementation of GC-MS/MS methods with automated inline derivatization for the analysis of cell extracts. The focus of the work will be the optimization of the mass spectrometric technique in combination with the setup of the sample preparation robot.
