We are looking for a highly motivated Masterstudent who is interested in the field of stable recombinant protein expression in mammalian cells.

Chinese hamster ovary (CHO) cells are the workhorse for biopharmaceutical production. We previously developed a modified CHO host cell line in which we are able to integrate a gene of interest (GOI) in a predefined genomic locus. Now we want to test the expression levels of different antibody like molecules using this new host cell line.

The work will be divided in an cell culture, an analytics and a molecular biology part.

Animal cell culture:

  • cultivation of CHO cells

  • Transfection of CHO cells

Analytics:

  • ELISA

  • SDS-PAGE and Western Blots

Molecular biology:

  • isolation of genomic DNA

  • isolation of RNA and preparation of cDNA

  • PCR and real-time PCR

The time frame would be 6 months
