The yeast Pichia pastoris is widely used as a production platform for heterologous proteins. Strain engineering effort has brought substantial improvements for this host.
The diploma/master thesis will focus on optimizing the fed batch phase of P. pastoris fermentations, where different feed strategies will be applied. The work will be embedded in an industrial collaboration.
The work will include:
Planning and performance of
Bioreactor cultivations in a DASGIP system
Product analysis and quantification using SDS-PAGE, Western Blot and ELISA
Characterization of the host cells at different conditions
We are looking for a highly motivated and ambitious Diploma/Master Student who wants to join our group and work on this topic!
