DirectSens is a company dedicated to the development of 3rd generation enzyme based biosensors. Founded in 2013, DirectSens works on rapid, precise and reliable biosensors for medical and industrial applications. After a decade of fundamental research the technology is now on the edge to commercialization and together with cooperation partners the first products are realized. The thesis project is focused on:
“Development and optimization of a blood glucose biosensor prototype“
Besides enzyme technology (assays, spectrophotometry) and physical chemistry (chemical surface modifications) mainly electrochemical techniques (cyclic voltammetry, flow injection analysis, chronoamperometry) will be applied to develop and optimize a prototype
Candidates should
… bring understanding in (Bio-)Chemistry and Physics
-B.sc. (or equivalent) in biotechnology, chemistry… be familiar with GMP
-Good documentation practice, precise working style
… be fluent in English
Candidates will
… work in an interdisciplinary team… will be supervised by experienced postdoc researchers
… be trained in various analytical techniques
… improve their presentation and writing skills
The project will start from July, will be performed at the laboratories at (BOKU VIBT Muthgasse 11/1 1190 Wien) and lasts for six months. An expense allowance (geringfügige Anstellung) will be paid on a monthly basis.
