In the future, there will be an increasing demand in high quality proteins from animal sources mainly due to the increase of the human population. Our project aims to find new enzymes for animal feed in order to utilize feed sources more effectively.

The strategy to find new enzymes includes the expression in different hosts (E.coli & P. pastoris), followed by purification and characterisation of the new enzyme. Furthermore the enzyme will be well optimized through genetic modification to create a product that combines all required characteristics.

Requirements:
Knowledge in heterologous expression / molecular biology / biotechnology

Start: as soon as possible
Working place: IFA Tulln (~20 min from Vienna by train – train station FJ-Bahnhof, Spittelau or Heiligenstadt)
